  Application Requirements
  

1. Applicant must be a Japanese citizen
   
2. Applicant must be a resident of Japan
   
3. Applicant must be able to perform scholarly activity in English. High-level communication skills (outside of academic activity) are essential
   
4. Applicant must have an open mind and interests outside of the specialized field in which they plan to theme their research in in the United States
   
5. Applicant must be in a fit mental and physical state to perform their scholarly activity in the United States
