JICA Tohoku Overseas Induction Course for Teachers Application

Japanese International Cooperation Agency (JICA Tohoku division)

Every year at the Japanese International Cooperation Agency, induction courses in developing countries are held for primary, junior high and high school and high-school teachers to help build development education establishment. All teachers with an interest in development education or developing countries, etc., are welcome to participate. The 2012 year's dispatch countries are Sri Lanka and Indonesia.。

◆ Application Requirements  ※Applicants must fit all of the following requirements to be eligible
① Applicant must work at at a primary, junior-high or high-school, vocational school or special-needs school in Aomori, Iwate, Miyagi, Akita or Yamagata prefecture, or be an education committee teacher supervior
② Must be able to participate in supporting educational events such as JICA's development education instructor training program, essay contest, etc.
Must either be working in or planning to be working in development education through classes or club activities.
As a general rule, applicants must be under the age of 50 (must still be under 50 by the application deadline date).
⑤ Must have a recommendation from the school in which they work (in the case of an education committee teacher supervisor, recommendation must come from the applicant's manager)
⑥ Must be in fit physical and mental condition throughout all of the course in the developing country, must fully understand the objective of the course, and must be available for all training sessions both overseas and in Japan.
⑦ Must give consent to the publication of their photograph in any documents or various reports relating to the JICA Tohoku overseas induction course
⑧ As a general rule, the applicant must not have already been dispatched as JICA overseas trainee volunteer, JICA specialist, ODA Moniter, or taken part in ODA functions.
